Proceedings

A volume of the Symposium Proceedings “Peptide Science 2023” will be published by the Japanese Peptide Society. All presenting authors of the oral and poster presentations are asked to prepare their manuscripts for the Proceedings.
Submission
Proceedings file (PDF) must be submitted via on line. Please use the “Proceeding submission (60JPS MyPage)” button below.
In the “Proceedings” section at the bottom of 60JPS MyPage, you will find a list of abstracts that have been submitted for presentation and have been presented at the 60th Japanese Peptide Symposium. Please click the “Submit manuscript” button of the abstract you wish to submit the proceedings manuscript. (If you do not see your abstract in the list, please send an email to the Secretariat with your program number.)
- Please be sure that the title, affiliations, authors, and keywords in the submission form are identical to those in the manuscript.
- Please save your PDF file before submission.
- The file name should contain the program number designated by the Secretariat and the last name of the presenting author, e.g. O-77_Otsu, P1-177_Shiga.
- Authors for whom English is a second language may choose to have their manuscript professionally edited before submission to improve the English.
- Submissions will be included in the Proceedings after being subjected to peer-review process.
Preparation of the manuscript
Proceeding submissions must comply with the formatting guidelines below. Please proofread your paper carefully. Make sure you have the correct margin settings, no headers or footers, no page numbers and the document is not locked. It is recommended to use the template provided for the preparation of your manuscript. The Proceedings will be printed in black & white, thus all authors are asked to supply any images, graphics or drawings in grayscale. The manuscript must be prepared in 2 or 4 pages including Figures.
Formatting guidelines
Language
Use traditional English or Greek characters. It should NOT contain any other language characters such as Japanese.
Length
The proceedings’ manuscript must be two or four pages (A4 style paper).
Formatting
- Manuscript size
- A4 style paper (not standard US letter)
- Margins
- Top margin 2.5 cm
- Bottom margin 3.0 cm
- Left margin 2.5 cm
- Right margin 2.5 cm
- Font
- Times New Roman
- Use a font size of 13 pt, except for Title and Abstract/Keywords, which should be 18 pt and 12 pt, respectively.
- Line spacing
- Spacing throughout is “exactly 13 pt”, except for Title, which should be “exactly 18 pt” line spacing.
Title
Leave seven lines from the top with “exactly 13 pt” line spacing. Title is 18 pt Bold with upper and lower case and centered. Set the line spacing to “exactly 18 pt”.
Author(s)
Leave two lines with “exactly 13 pt” line spacing between title and the author list. Type the full name of authors in Bold and the author list is also centered.
Affiliation(s)
Leave one line with “exactly 13 pt” line spacing between the author list and the affiliations. In the case of authors from multiple institutions superscripts 1, 2, 3,… after the author names should be used. Affiliations should be 13 pt, centered and in italics.
E-mail address
On the next line of Affiliations, the e-mail address of the corresponding author should be included in 13 pt Bold (not italics) and centered.
Abstract
Leave one line with “exactly 13 pt” line spacing between E-mail address and Abstract. The summary should be given in 5-7 lines in italics. Words such as species’ names that are originally in italics should be converted to a plane font. Indent 1.0 cm at the both right and left sides. Abstract should be 12 pt with “exactly 13 pt” line spacing and justified at both sides.
Keywords
Leave one line with “exactly 13 pt” line spacing between Abstract and Keywords. Indent 1.0 cm at the both right and left sides. Keywords should be 12 pt and justified. You may include up to five keywords which should be placed under the heading of “Keywords:” in alphabetical order.
Text
Leave two lines with “exactly 13 pt” line spacing between Keywords and the text. The body text should be 13 pt and justified at both sides. The text should be divided into the following sessions:
- Introduction
- Results and Discussion
- Acknowledgements (if any)
- References
Headings are 13 pt in Bold. Indent each paragraph 1.25 cm. Leave one line with “exactly 13 pt” line spacing between the preceding text and the next heading.
References
References should be cited by numbers in square brackets and listed at the end of the paper in the order in which they appear in the text. The reference list (in numerical order) begins one line spacing with “exactly 13 pt” line spacing below the end of text. It should be 13 pt and justified.
Tables
Tables should be typed directly in the text, and if possible, placed at the top or bottom of the page. Leave two lines with “exactly 13 pt” line spacing for the following text. All tables are to be numbered using Arabic numerals. For each table, please supply a table caption (13 pt in italics) which should be placed above the table and left justified. Footnotes (10 pt) to tables should be indicated by superscript lower-case letters (or asterisks for significance values and other statistical data) and included beneath the table body.
Figures
Figures should be mounted directly in the text, and if possible, placed at the top or bottom of the page. Leave two lines with “exactly 13 pt” line spacing for the following text. All figures are to be numbered using Arabic numerals. Each figure should have a concise caption (13 pt in italics) which is placed beneath the figure (one blank line with “exactly 13 pt” line spacing should be inserted between a figure and a caption).
